Several Hollywood stars are coming together to support Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) in its fourth biennial fundraising telecast, broadcasting live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, on Friday, September 5. The fundraiser is being held to help build public support for new therapies found through groundbreaking research, according to a press release from SU2C.

The stars that are set to take part include Gwyneth Paltrow, who will also be co-executive producing the broadcast, Reese Witherspoon, Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Jon Hamm, Kiefer Sutherland, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Mark Harmon, Rob Lowe, Eric Stonestreet, Danny McBride, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. There will also be musical performances by The Who, Jennifer Hudson, Lupe Fiasco and Common, Ariana Grande and Dave Matthews.

The telecast will feature a “digital lounge” on set hosted by Yahoo News Global Anchor and SU2C Co-Founder Katie Couric, which will have the celebrities reaching out to viewers over the phone and through SU2C’s primary social media partner Facebook or other social media platforms in the fundraiser’s new “We’re Calling You” campaign. Supporters can sign up for the campaign at werecallingyou.org.

“Cancer affects us all,” says Paltrow in a SU2C press release. “Each and every person can help the scientists who are working 24/7 to save more lives. We want to get that message out in as many ways as possible, so we’re excited to use social media to reach supporters from all over who are helping to grow the SU2C movement, and hopefully, get even more people to stand up with us.”

The fundraising telecast will air on 31 broadcast and cable networks on Friday, September 5 from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. ET. It will also be streaming live on Hulu and Yahoo at 8:00 pm ET and PT and 7:00 p.m. CT.

Canadian stations CBC, City, CTV and Global will be airing the broadcast, as well as AMI, CHCH, CHEK, Fight Network and Hollywood Suite. Donations made by Canadians will go toward the creation of collaborative research teams and education and awareness programs in Canada.
