Name: Branka
Age: 51
Occupation: Writer/novelist
Health issue: breast cancer
Symptoms: In 2003 I felt quite tired, especially in the early mornings, as that was the time when I used to get up and write. I had a shower and discovered a small lump in my breast. I knew at once, without any doubt, that it could be something serious. I visited my doctor the very same day, and soon my fears were confirmed.
Health recommendations: I was referred by my GP to an oncologist, but at the same time I started to see an oncologist who worked seven years in Oasis of Hope, established by Dr. Ernesto Contreras, known as the Total Cancer Treatment Care Approach. He has been recognized as a pioneer in body, mind and spirit medicine. In 2003 I changed my diet to complete vegan, started with acupuncture treatments, homeopathy and weekly injections of Vitamin C and B12. I implemented “traditional” methods of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Mine and my doctors’ philosophy was “embrace it all.”
The results: All those complementary treatments helped me to fight and ease the side effects of toxic treatments. The correct diet had absolutely contributed to my increased energy levels, clearer skin and better digestion, and acupuncture helped as well. Ten years later, I am in perfect health, still faithful to my vegan diet and occasional acupuncture treatments and vitamin injections. The result of this experience is my new book, The Mosaic of the Broken Soul, an inspiration for those in dire circumstances.
