Having a glass of red wine is said to have a number of health benefits. Scientists have given red wine lovers another reason to celebrate by discovering another health benefit, which occurs naturally in blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, and grape skins—and, consequently, red wine—called resveratrol.
A team of researchers at Georgetown University discovered that a resveratrol supplement would counteract the negative impact of a high fat/high sugar diet on the hind leg muscles of rhesus monkeys. Researchers stress that while the results are promising, maintaining healthy diet is very important. Still, it’s one for reason to have a glass of red wine!
