Do you have old electronics or batteries that are in need of disposing?
On April 11 and 12, 2015 Organic Garage will be holding Electronic Waste Collection Events at their Oakville and Vaughan, Ontario locations. Come in and safely dispose of your old electronics.
The organic food store also has a charge for paper bag program. “We are proud to be donating $4291.06 from the sale of our paper bags to the David Suzuki Foundation,” says director of marketing Randee Glassman. “Our goal with charging for our paper bags has never been to produce additional revenue. The idea is to help discourage customers from using our bags and to encourage them to bring their own, reducing landfill waste and saving the energy used to make new bags.”
The decision was made to focus fund-raising efforts on one specific charitable organization: the David Suzuki Foundation. The David Suzuki Foundation works with government, businesses and individuals to conserve our environment by providing science-based education, advocacy and policy work.
