Another former VIVA cover star, LeAnn Rimes is now marking the 20th anniversary of her breakout hit, “Blue” released when she was just 13 years old. Her voice now is as pure and strong as it was 20 years ago. While she might always be defined by her “Blue” period, LeAnn, at age 33, just signed a new recording contract, has a new single expected soon and has an overseas hit with “The Story”. Writing and singing while growing up in the public eye has given Rimes a different perspective on life at this stage in her career. While performing live at Renfro Valley in Kentucky on her nationwide tour, LeAnn told the audience that many of her past hits have new meaning to her now. “My debut album in 1996 definitely defines a moment in time. For “Blue” itself, it really is still such a timeless song.” With success came tabloid fodder but Rimes sees her life and career from calmer turf nowadays. “I feel very grounded. I’m at a good place right now. I’m truly happy.”
