Health Issue: Type 1 Diabetes
Symptoms: Through the stress of a divorce with four small children, my diabetes was increasingly difficult to manage. Stress plays a huge role in diabetes management and was really affecting my blood sugar levels and my overall emotional well-being.
Health Recommendations: Between an insulin pump and a Continuous Glucose Monitoring system, I regulate my blood sugar levels. That aside, I find that yoga and meditation really contribute to stabilizing my stress levels which in turn, help me keep my blood sugar levels regulated.
The Results: While I will forever be on insulin, these lifestyle changes have made such a difference on my overall well-being and really affect my daily interactions with myself and others.
