Calling all yogis! Take it to the Mat is coming back to Toronto for a second year. The yoga and wellness retreat, which is held in support of Lymphoma Canada, will take place at the Glenn Gould Studio and Barbara Frum Atrium in Toronto on Sunday, November 15, 2015.
A variety of experts in yoga, meditation and the science of happiness will join participants for this inspirational day. Speakers will include Bryce Wylde, Louisa Jewell and Sarah Hogan, a lymphoma survivor. Musicians Normando Jones and Lana Sugarman will also appear at the event, enhancing the 108-minute yoga and meditation sessions with their melodies. Additionally, vocalist Roveena will entertain the group during lunch.
“The inaugural event exceeded all of our expectations with over 200 people in attendance to help raise $150,000 in support of patients with lymphoma and their families,” says Robin Markowitz, the CEO of Lymphoma Canada. “Take it to the Mat 2015 will be a memorable day of healing, inspiration, energy and transformation as participants gather together to practice yoga or meditate and learn about how happiness can improve well-being, while championing an important cause.”
Lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer affecting Canadians and has the fastest rising incidence rate among young adults. Currently, over 100,000 Canadians are living with lymphoma. There is no known cause or prevention, only hope for a cure.
All funds raised at this event will enable Lymphoma Canada to further its mission of supporting Canadians living with lymphoma. To register for the event, click here.
