The Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) is currently running a campaign to help Ontario Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) and their patients. There are two proposed regulatory amendments to the current Naturopathy Act. If approved, the future of Naturopathic Medicine in Ontario will be dramatically changed.
Ontario NDs would only have access to a very limited list of laboratory tests, which would exclude necessary and essential laboratory tests required for proper ND assessments, diagnosis and treatment. The proposed Controlled Acts Regulation also limits the number of substances that NDs may prescribe and inject and would require that specimens be collected in a laboratory instead of a ND’s office.
