Symptoms: All my life I’ve experienced sharp abdominal pains, bloating and constipation after substantial meals. As a consciously healthy eater who regularly exercises, I thought my digestion was fine and that the painful sensation was just a “full” feeling.
Health Recommendations: For the first time at the age of 30, I took a recommended detox prescribed by a naturopathic doctor. The detox excluded dairy, eggs, red meat, gluten, caffeine and sugar. I was told that “taking a break” from these foods should be able to regulate my digestion and make me feel more energetic.
Results: Two weeks into the detox, my stomach became flat and I had no pain after eating! This detox diet made me realize that I am sensitive to gluten and dairy and that I should consume them in moderation.
