Despite swirling rumours, Taylor Swift is not set to make a cameo appearance in the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine movie.

For months, fans speculated that the pop superstar would portray the Marvel character Dazzler in the upcoming sequel. Even Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy played along, adding fuel to the fire with their coy responses.

However, as the movie’s release date approaches, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Swift will not be appearing in the film. So, it looks like fans will have to endure a “cruel summer” without a Swift cameo. Reynolds addressed the rumours last year, telling the Vancouver Sun, “Yeah, I’ve heard that one. I love it (the gossip). I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26.”

Director Shawn Levy also danced around the speculation, telling TheWrap, “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

The rumours gained traction after Swift was spotted attending an NFL game last year with Levy, Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman. Fans quickly connected the dots, hoping for a star-studded Marvel surprise.

Deadpool & Wolverine will see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their beloved roles, marking the first Deadpool film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is set to make history with its R rating, becoming the highest age-rated movie in the MCU. Additionally, it has already broken records for the best first-day ticket sales for a movie in 2024.

While Swifties might be disappointed by her absence, the film promises plenty of action and excitement with Reynolds and Jackman leading the charge. The long-awaited Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2024.
