The 5th annual Veggielicious is making waves with some seriously delicious participants.
From May 6-22, over 40 restaurants, cafés, and bakeries will feature a prix-fixe menu and great deals on vegan meals.
We got the chance to preview some of the scrumptious offerings last Friday. To kick off your week, here’s what you can expect:
Sweets from the Earth
Okay, we hovered over this incredible spread for a while.
They had many old favourites, such as the carrot cake and the superstuff cookie, but Sweets from the Earth is going to be debuting a few must-try desserts during Veggielious that vegans and non-vegans alike will crave.
Whoopie pie is a classic cream-stuffed cookie that many of vegans have had to give up. Sweets from the Earth is bringing that timeless cookie to a whole new level! Rich chocolate cookie filled with a marshmallow-y flavoured fluffy cream.
Looking to have a summer bonfire? The new s’mores cookie will be a perfect snack. Chocolate chip and a hint of vanilla make this chewy cookie a new favourite.
The new gluten-free chocolate almond biscotti will make you feel as if you are sitting in an Italian café by the water. This piece of chocolate-y goodness is perfect with a cup of coffee.
Tabülè
If this isn’t your go-to Middle Eastern restaurant already, it’s about to be.
With an extensive menu that’s both vegan and allergy-friendly, Tabülè definitely makes you feel like you are eating Sito’s cooking.
They had some classics, such as falafel, hummus, müjadara, babaganüj, and of course, tabülè, but they are going to debut a twist on a traditional dessert—Lebanese rice pudding.
Now completely vegan, their rice pudding has a sweet hint of coconut.
Kupert & Kim
Featuring two of their best-sellers, Kupert & Kim was definitely a taste-test hit.
The First Canadian salad is packed full of colourful veggies and protein, and their Oaxaca salad is Mexican with some hearty surprises. For Veggielious they will be offering $1 off your purchase when you buy a salad box and a smoothie, and $2 off if you purchase a dessert as well. Who can resist?
Beau’s Brewing Company
Many people don’t know that wine and beer aren’t necessarily vegan because of the purifying process. Beau’s eases the minds of vegans everywhere with a variety of beer, without sacrificing the quality.
Try their new Patio Season beer for a light-tasting drink as the weather warms up.
