2020 started with a bang and the first major red carpet event, the 77th Golden Globes Awards, which took place at the iconic Beverly Hilton Hotel. Hollywood’s finest, in their finest!, graced the red carpet in gorgeous designer gowns, tuxedos and suits to celebrate the best of last year’s Television and Film.
1. Priyanka Chopra was pretty in hot pink on the red carpet. The elegant, form-fitting, off the shoulder Cristina Ottaviano floor-length gown was a shout out to old Hollywood, with her hair styled to one side in long pin-curl glamour.
Nick Jonas wasn’t her only accessory, she paired the dress with stunning Bulgari jewellery: a pink jewel ring, diamond earrings, and a necklace with more than 56 carats in diamonds and valued at more than $1 million.
2. Helen Mirren: It was Red all the way for Helen Mirren who wore a stunning, off the shoulder Cranberry Dior Haute Couture gown paired with an inspiring cranberry lip. She looked light, bright and festive. She accessorized her stunning look with a platinum-set cascading diamond drop necklace that was bedecked with 73.55 carats of diamonds estimated at around $4 million dollars.
In typical, and humble, Helen Mirren style she finished the look with a pair of very inexpensive crimson coloured Aldo platforms. We love her all the more for it!
3. Scarlett wore scarlet! The best actress nominee stunned in a plunging Vera Wang gown complete with a large bow and full train. Her hair was styled in a sleek, elegant bun.
In addition, Scarlett donned an incredible 120 carats of Bulgari diamonds including a platinum High Jewellery necklace (featuring a 4.01-carat round diamond, 81 round diamonds, and pavé-set diamonds) paired with a Heritage bracelet, circa 1959, set with 11 octagonal step diamonds, 110 marquise diamonds and 44 tapered diamonds mounted in platinum and gold; and platinum diamond studs.
4.Eddie Brown & Paige Butcher: Sometimes your accessory is your partner! Eddie and Paige looked glamorous and comfortably happy to be side by side at the Globes. Eddie, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his work in the Netflix film Dolemite Is My Name, looked casual-cool and classic in a deep purple velvet tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo pants and black turtleneck; he accessorized with large sunglasses and two large gold rings while Paige wore a strapless gown with a grey fitted bodice and ruffled skirt.
5. Rene Zellweger: Rene looked spectacular in a custom strapless baby blue Armani Privé gown featuring a crystal-embroidered thigh-high slit. The crystal embellishment trim accented the modern column shape of the dress and the half-moon curvature at the top. Rene paired the look with matching Jimmy Choo pumps and accessorized with a gold cuff bracelet by David Webb and finished her look with a pale pink lip.
