Have you recently purchased and consumed products from Better Bodies Supplements in Airdrie, Alberta? If so, your health may be in jeopardy.
Health Canada has noted that eight unauthorized health supplements were listed as for sale on the retailer’s website. The aforementioned products contain a combination of ingredients—including caffeine, L-dopa, synephrine, ephedrine and ephedra—that can produce severe health risks.

Additionally, L-Dopa—which is often used in anti-Parkinson’s medications—may trigger uncontrollable movements of the face, eyelids, mouth, tongue, neck, arms, hands, or legs; severe or persistent nausea or vomiting; an irregular heartbeat or fluttering in the chest; feeling lightheaded when standing quickly, or unusual changes in mood or behaviour.
Consumers who have bought or used any of these products, particularly those with heart conditions, high blood pressure or diabetes, may be at risk. If you or someone you know has taken these supplements and is experiencing adverse side effects, please contact Health Canada toll-freee at +1(866) 234-2345.
