Dr. Satwant Kaur, a distinguished technologist for HP, predicts that by 2020, a new diagnostic tool could help detect Alzheimer’s in the eyes of the patient decades before the disease reaches the brain.

Dr. Kaur has made public in a press release that non-invasive Retinal Image Scans will be able to detect Alzheimer’s in a patient’s eyes. The scan may show a plaque in the retina specific to Alzheimer’s before it accumulates in the brain to cause the disease, which may allow patients and doctors the opportunity to fight back with early intervention.

Dr. Kaur is renowned for her predictions in the field of health sciences and for her futuristic technologies, including CA Technology’s Event Correlation Engine and Intel’s Reduced Interoperability Technologies, among others. She has received several awards and accolades for her achievements in technology and authored the Amazon bestseller Transitioning Embedded Systems to Intelligent Environments.
