What’s your secret food vice? Cookies.
What is your number one comfort food? Toast with lots of butter and honey.
What is your biggest food challenge? Avoiding carbs as my first “go to.”
What keeps you eating a balanced diet? It used to be simply vanity I now need every ounce of energy, so I have to eat right.
Any allergies or dislikes? Hate peanut butter in almost every way except on celery.
What must you always have in your fridge? Yogurt, fruit, eggs, cheese, tomatoes and salad, white wine and champagne.
What are some of your go-to meals? Grilled chicken with lima beans and cilantro. Black quinoa with sautéed garlic, green onions, peppers and scallops.
Strangest food you’ve tried? I once ate sheep’s eyes..arrrgh!
What’s your favourite dish or food to eat in the summer? In the winter? Summer: Capresi salad with home grown tomatoes, basil and buffalo cheese and a glass of Pinot Grigio. Winter: Mussels in white wine and shallots with lots of crispy French bread and red wine.
What is your favourite meal to make for guests in your home? In the summer I have an amazing couscous dish with Morrocan sauce, grilled veggies and goat cheese. In winter it’s mushroom soup, squid-ink pasta with scallops and cilantro.
What is your most used/favourite ingredient to cook with and why? Eggs. For quiche, scrambled, fried, poached, egg white for meringues. Egg yolks for custard, lemon curd, and as a treatment for my hair!
What have you been busy with over the last year? Keeping up with an increasingly taxing schedule, and the new Season 5 of Love it or List it.
What’s next for you? I try not to plan too far ahead, and steer clear of stating my hopes. Too superstitious for that!
