She was named the player of the year in Virginia in 1991 and led Waynesboro High School to a state championship. Rilinger went on to play for the University of Miami and was named co-rookie of the year in the Big East Conference. After a year in Miami, she transferred to James Madison University where she finished as the program’s all-time leading scorer. She then played professionally, both overseas and in the United States.  Currently, Rilinger offers both one-one and group coaching programs worldwide. She uses her life experiences both as an elite athlete and trainer coupled with her education to help motivated individuals find balance and success in their lives.
