Why Men Age More Rapidly
Research in Immunity & Ageing found that men’s immune systems age more rapidly than women’s. This may contribute to the fact that, on average, women tend to live longer than men. The Japan-based study found that the rate of decline in T cells and B cells is slower in women than men. There was also an age-dependent decrease in red blood cells for men, but not for women.
